Learn The Secrets To longevity

Growing old is something we must all endure, but there are a few things you can do to slow down the process. Bear in mind, there isn’t just one magic secret that will stop aging in its tracks, but rather a multitude of things combined. 

1. Anti-aging diet: Opting for a diet rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory foods is one of the many ways to slow down the aging process.  The quicker you start eating healthy, the sooner you will prevent diseases and other age-related factors from forming.  A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish, legumes, nuts, yogurt and other healthy foods will help delay the effects of aging.

2. Exercise every day: Experts far and wide all agree that if one thing is a must do” to slow down the aging process, it’s regularly exercising. Rigorous activity impacts aging by helping prevent heart disease, diabetes and other illness, increases stamina, bone density and muscle strength, and helps your cells stay younger. If you just don’t have the determination or time to exercise, try to stay active as possible – park your car a few blocks away from work and walk, for example.

3. Use sunscreen: The sun is arguably the most significant factor of aging in skin.  The sun not only speeds up the aging process, but it creates skin discoloration and wrinkles.  Religiously apply sun block before heading outdoors and stay far away from tanning beds.

4. Manage stress: Stress is a part of everyday life, but high amounts of stress over long periods of time can take its toll on your body, causing illness and premature aging.  Manage stress by taking up an activity you enjoy, for example gardening, playing with your pet, etc. Also, try exercising and getting enough sleep at night.
