Rediscover Foot Beauty – Skin Care to Pamper Tired Feet
Don’t you just love how winter works to wreck the summer look you’ve tried so hard to give your tired feet? Even worse, the recession has done things to the economy that make your head spin and your budget say “no way, man” to the notion of going in for the early spring pedicure you’ve been dreaming about all winter. Well, worry no more. While it isn’t the same degree of pampering you’ve come to enjoy from a professional pedicure there is no reason that you can’t enjoy the great beauty, skin care, and sinful enjoyment of a pedicure, even on your meticulously balanced budget (if only our government could manage meager funds so well).
So, how can you pamper your tired, overworked, under paid, and not fully appreciated feet without breaking out a few Benjamin’s to get the job done? By learning the principles this great country was built on, do it yourself! You can give your feet the great beauty and skin care treatment they deserve and dare to wear sandals once again at the first hint of spring.
If you are a sucker for the delightfully scent and absolutely sinful feel of salon products it is cheaper to buy the products than it is to get the full package treatment. Most finer salons will sell you their products. If you can’t find the salon products you’ve grown to love for your pedicure pleasure you can find some nice substitutes in department stores, drug stores, mail order party plan businesses, and you always have the option to make your own foot care products that are sure to take years off your feet and leave them feeling as beautiful as they look.
First things first. Soak your feet in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes. Use this opportunity to thoroughly clean your feet.
Exfoliate. A foot pumice works well for this step. You can also use exfoliating cream that you have purchased from the store or made yourself.
Trim. It is important not to trim too close when trimming your toes and you do not want to curve at the corners. Instead, you should cut clean and straight across.
Moisturize. This is an important step that should be repeated every time you get out of the shower or bath. In fact, it should be done within a few minutes of removing from exposure to water so that it can lock in the moisture before it evaporates and escapes.
Then you are ready to prime and polish your nails. You should use the primer. Dry. Apply a base coat. Dry. Then follow up with a top coat of polish.
Beautiful feet are an excellent sign that you are still young and vibrant. Caring for your feet will help you retain that look of youthful vitality that others will envy. When it comes to anti aging beauty, skin care tips like those above are the secret to success.
